Rubber Soul tops UK chart on 25.12.1965.
L'adieu à la scène : 1965 sera une année exceptionnelle sur le plan musical car les Beatles, après Help !, vont faire paraître en cette fin d'année un autre album, Rubber Soul. Ce nouveau disque dévoile dans toute leur splendeur les nouveaux concepts musicaux que les Beatles commencent à expérimenter. Il marque un changement décisif dans leur musique, déjà très éloignée de leurs premières chansons aux refrains pleins d'esprit mais tout de même un peu faciles, truffés de yeah-yeah. "Fausse stéréo" qu'on appelle "duophonie".
En définitive, Rubber Soul clôture l'année 1965 sur une image encourageante et renouvelée de l'avenir des Fab Four, désormais directement influencés par les conceptions musicales américaines développées par des artistes tels The Byrds.

Later he joined STEALERS WHEEL playing drums i.a. on "Stuck In The Middle With You" released in 1972.

Bobby Rydell alias Robert Ridarelli (1942/04/26, Philadelphia, Pa.- present) : singer (and earlier he began taking lessons on percussion. At age 8, he was an accomplished cabaret performer playing drums. Ex-Rocco and the Saints featuring Frankie Avalon to the trumpet.
CAMEO was a parent label of PARKWAY owned by Bernie Lowe, Harry Chipitz and Kal Mann. Parkway was a sister label of Cameo owned by Bernie Lowe and Kal Mann.

December 1966 : renamed Vanilla Fudge, the quartet is one of the few East Coast groups to join ranks with acid rock West Coast movement, with a style it will describe as "psychedelic-symphonic rock" (a central element of which is slowed-down rearrangements of artists' hit singles).
July 22, 1967 : V.F. signed to Atlantic Records' subsidiary label ATCO RECORDS, makes its New York debut at the Village theater (soon renamed the Fillmore East) with The Byrds and The Seeds. Debut single, a version of The Supremes' You Keep Me Hanging On, hits US #6 and makes UK #18.

November 1968 : George Harrison (25.02.1943-30.11.2001 [29.11.2001 in Los Angeles, CA]) : becomes the first Beatle to issue material independently of the group with album soundtrack "Wonderwall", which reaches US #49.
March 1969 : Electronic Sound, which makes US #191, consists of Harrison experimenting with new acquisition, a moog synthesizer.
November : having become the second writing force behind Lennon and McCartney within The Beatles, the first single he has penned is released by the group, Something which hits UK #4 and US #1. (it will become a show biz standard with hundreds of cover versions recorded in the coming years.)

Autant dire tout de suite que ces Rockets n'ont strictement rien à voir avec les vrais Rockets (les accompagnateurs de son premier single sorti sur (disques) festival FX 45-1342 M publié en août 1963). Tous les backing tracks enregistrés par des musiciens de studio (appartenant à Loulou Gasté) sous la direction de Caravelli étaient déjà prêts quand William s'est amené à Paris. William ne sait même pas qui ils sont ! Il ne lui restait plus qu'à chanter. Deux chansons (s) Lennon-McCartney se trouvent sur ce second et dernier EP sorti chez Festival : France FX 45 1359 M et en Belgique FEP 1359 publié en janvier 1964. Deux chansons écrites pour leurs amis Billy J. Kramer with The Dakotas (Bad To Me et I Call Your Name, sortis sur le même 45 tours Parlophone le 26 juillet 1963). Reginald Kenneth Dwight, Mar.25, 1947, Pinner, London), son of an ex-royal Air Force trumpeter, Stanley and his wife, Sheila Dwight, having started piano lessons at age 4 and played at a local music festival at age 12 (his early piano idols are Winifred Atwell and Charlie Kunz), has already attended the Royal Academy of Music, London, to which he won a part-time scholarship in 1958, when he joins locally performing R&B outfit Bluesology (its name taken from a Django Reinhardt disk), playing piano with existing members Stuart Brown (gtr), Rex Bishop (bs) and Mike Inkpen (drms). Their first paying gig is at the Northwood Hills hotel, Northwood, London.
December 1974 : his cover of The Beatles' Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds featuring the Reggae guitars of Dr. Winston O'Boogie alias John Lennon is issued as a single on UK DJM Records DJS-340 and released on 8 November 1974 which hits UK TOP 40 #10 and in Germany #31 [DJM 2043 002, 1975]. The story about the French label Riviera (not RIVIERA nor Rivièra) is not so simple. It was founded by Eddie Barclay's (Edouard Ruault) sister Nicole in 1950. Apparently, their first releases are dating to 1953.

Amen Corner forms in Cardiff, Wales, it 7 members veterans of local Welsh bands - lead singer Andy Fairweather-Low having been a member of local R&B band The Taffbeats, is in The Sect Maniacs with Alan Jones (baritone sax) and brother Neil (gtr); Clive Taylor (bass) are from The Dekkas; Derek "Blue" Weaver (organ) and Dennis Bryon (drms) are from The Witnesses (not to be confused with the American band Sam Butera and The Witnesses well know mostly in Europe for their awesome dance song Bim Bam (US Capitol, 1958 and re-released in Belgium 22 years later).
1969 : group's last single is a cover of The Beatles' Get Back. Fairweather-Low, Weaver, Bryon, Taylor and Neil Jones regroup as Fair Weather; Alan Jones and Mike Smith form the nucleus of Judas Jump with Andy Bown.

Chubby Checker (b. Ernest Evans, Oct. 3, 1941, Spring Gulley, South Carolina), signed under his real name to Cameo/Parkway Records in Philadelphia, PA. Cameo changes his name after Bobbie Clark notes his ressemblance to a teenage Fats Domino (Fats = Chubby; Domino = Checker).
April 1969 : signed to BUDDAH RECORDS, Checker makes a minor US chart comeback with a cover of The Beatles' White Album track Back In The U.S.S.R. which peaks at #82.

In 1966, it includes Clifford Bennett (vocals), b. 4 June 1940, Slough, Berkshire, England; David Peacock (lead gtr), b. 24 May 1945, Ponders End, Middlesex; Chas/Charles Hodges (keys, bs gtr), b. 28 December 1943, Edmonton, North London; Michael Burt (drs), b. 23 August 1938, Middlesex; and later famous the pianist Nicky/Nicholas Hopkins, b. 24 February 1944, Perivale (Harlesden), North West London - d. 6 September 1994, Nashville, TEN. (USA). This 45rpm7" is issued on EMI/PARLOPHONE R 5489 in August 1966 and hits UK TOP 40 #6 (according to other sources it hits UK #3). Produced by famous Paul McCartney. They had 2 hits on Parlophone: the Drifters' "One Way Love" (1964) and this one in 1966, but their records never went beyond a highly efficient plagiarism. Bennett later formed an unsuccessful progressive rock band, TOE FAT.
At the time of recording Twist And Shout, Brian Poole and The Tremeloes consist of Brian Poole (vcls); Rick West [Richard Westwood] (lead gtr); Alan Blakley (rhythm gtr); Alan Howard (bs gtr) and Dave Munden (drums).
July 1961: the group plays i.a. a summer season as a successful rock ballroom band at Butlin's holiday camp at Ayr, Scotland, billed as Brian Poole & The Tremilos.
Dec. 1961: group turns professional after an audition for DECCA Records.
Jan. 1962: group is signed to DECCA after being selected in preference to The Beatles, both groups auditioning on New Year's Day, but local availability swings it for producer Mike Smith when he has to choose.
July 1963: DECCA releases Twist And Shout. Belgium 45rpm7" is also released in July. Reference: 23.416 / DR 45/31065. Left: LP cover picture LK.4550 - (EP DECCA F11694, 12.07.1963).
Aug. 1963: group hits UK #4 with its cover of Twist And Shout, hugely popular on The Beatles debut album but not available as a Beatles single. Further progress is halted by The Beatles EP Twist And Shout, which is a bigger-seller. Lennon's vocal for their cover of The Isley Brothers' cover version [o.v. by The Top Notes in 1961] is recorded in 1 take as an afterthought to complete the album's tracks.

This band was completely unknow in the UK and blithely unreleased there. However, they were best known in Western Europe especially in Germany and Switzerland and France where it did not chart (DNC).
This German 45 rpm single is the original pressing recorded at PYE Studios in London with many studio musicians.

John Waldo, Sept.17, 1950, Omaha, NE sign to A&M Records, using the advance to produce more extravagant stage shows. The group consists as well as Waybill, Bill "Sputnick" Spooner (gtr), Vince Welnick (keyboards), Rick Anderson (bs gtr), Michael Cotton (synthesizer), Roger Steen (gtr), Prairie Prince (drums) [b.Charles L. Prince], Re Styles (vox, gtr) [b. Shirley Marie MacLeod] and Mingo Lewis (percussion).
